Our resident fire fighter celebrates 10 years’ service
After hours, Nicola Baker is a rural firefighter and by day, she is a dedicated legal secretary at GW.
Nicola recently ticked over ten years’ service with us and we believe this is nothing short of a miracle.
Nicola started working with GW in May 2007 working closely with Partner, Ken Waddington.
Ken said that celebrating a team member’s ten years’ service with a firm is a rare privilege these days.
“I feel fortunate that GW has celebrated two team members ten years’ service this year – Kerrie Cooper and now Nicola,” Ken said.
“Nicola is a valued member of our team. She is energetic, loyal and a pleasure to work with.”
Reflecting on her years at GW, Nicola says that people have come and gone but overall she thinks GW is the best it’s ever been.
“When I first started working here, the Practice Manager ruled the office support staff with an ’iron fist’,” Nicola said.
“The firm has really evolved and settled over the years and we have a very committed and loyal team now whom truly want to make a positive difference to the lives of our valued clients,” Nicola said.
Nicola says she has the best of both worlds working at GW and hopes she remains part of the team for many more years to come.
“I live in the hinterland and I love coming to work each day at Cotton Tree,” Nicola said.
“It’s a sea change for me and it is the only job I have had the opportunity to go for a surf, swim or even walk along the sandy beaches at lunchtime.”
