Pulse pumps a winning beat
The recent Master Builders Association (MBA) Sunshine Coast Housing and Construction Awards was an exciting night for the industry with Evans Built winning the 2016 Project of the Year for Pulse Oceanside Medical, Kawana.
Garland Waddington proudly sponsored the prestigious award and it was a privilege for Partner, Brendan Bathersby, to hand the top gong to Lee Ferguson, Partner at Evans Built, on the night.
Lee Ferguson said he and his team were delighted to take out the Project of the Year Award.
“Pulse was completed on time despite some site difficulties and wet weather conditions, so this award is an appreciated recognition to our team and the consultants who worked on the project,” Mr Ferguson said.
Poised to take advantage of the opening of the $1.98 billion Sunshine Coast Public University Hospital, Pulse Oceanside Medical is an impressive six-storey building with a mix of pragmatic and stylish design for the medical professional.
“Look in any direction from the corner of the site and the future lies before you,” Mr Ferguson said.
“To the north is the Sunshine Coast University Hospital, with 200 day and overnight beds being operated by Ramsay Health Care.
“To the east is the Oceanside business and residential development that is expected to top $5.3 billion over the next 15 years.
Pulse has already secured significant players in regard to medical services including imaging, pathology, radiology and diagnostic services. Access to the suites has been designed to be ambulance-ready.
Partner at Garland Waddington, Brendan Bathersby said Evans Built must be congratulated on the professional manner in which this vital part of the region’s infrastructure has been constructed.
“As a long-time supporter of the Housing and Construction Awards, I’ve seen a number of highly admirable projects win awards over the years and Pulse is yet another game-changer,” Mr Bathersby said.
“The ground floor is already a thriving retail and hospitality destination that faces the hospital. Together with the rest of the building, it is paving the way for contemporary and relevant professional space for the medical industry on the Sunshine Coast.”
For over 30 years, Garland Waddington have acted for individuals, builders, tradespersons, architects, companies, consultants and the full range of parties involved in the building and construction industry.
Congratulations to Evans Built for taking out the Master Builders Project of the Year for Pulse Oceanside Medical.
