GW enjoys playing an active role in our community.
Whether through providing legal assistance or financial support to worthy causes or encouraging staff to be part of one of the many community projects and industry associations we support each year, we are proud to add value to the broader community and to make a positive difference to the lives of others.
One of the charities we choose to support is The Compass Institute. Wow, what a wonderful job they do in our community!
One of the initiatives of Compass is the Compass Assistance Dogs providing service dogs for people with disabilities.
For more than 12 months now, GW Partner, Brendan Bathersby, has been a member of the Board of this registered charity which is dedicated to providing real futures for adult Queenslanders with a disability.
GW is so committed to this charity, the whole team took the day off last year to take a tour of The Compass Institute’s farm and training facility, the Wabi Sabi Café in Palmwoods and the Compass Café at Garry Crick car yard in Nambour, where young people obtain vocational and real-world experience.
Since 1992, The Compass Institute has provided alternative education programmes to thousands of young disabled adults. Compass is an accredited Post-School Disability Service Provider with five centres from Gympie to Caboolture.
